The elections of the Spanish Maritime Law Association’s (SMLA) Executive Council (EXCO) took place yesterday 6th of October during the SMLA’s Assembly. The candidacy headed by our Partner Eduardo Albors, the only one presented, was elected and endorsed unanimously by the attendees to the Assembly.

The new members of the EXCO for the period 2016-2020 are:

President: Eduardo Albors.
1st Vice President: Tomás Fernández-Quirós.
2nd Vice- President: Mercedes Duch.
Secretary: Manuel Alba.
Treasurer: Jesús Casas.
Other members of the Council: Rodolfo A. González-Lebrero, Albert Badía, Julio López, Javier Portales, Manuel Carlier and Jesús Barbadillo.

A special mention of gratitude to Rodolfo A. González-Lebrero, former President of the SMLA, was recorded in the minute of the Assembly, in recognition of his hard work and dedication to the SMLA during his presidency.

The newly elected EXCO, chaired by our partner Eduardo Albors, aims to continue with the goals and objectives set out by the former EXCO. During the last four years, the SMLA has made great progress, both in its membership and in its numerous activities, and has strengthened its relationship with the International Maritime Committee (CMI).
