The III National Maritime Convention has started today in Cartagena, promoted by the Spanish Royal Naval League in collaboration with the Spanish Maritime Cluster. The Firm was represented in the Convention by the assistance of our Partner Javier Galiano and our Principal Associate and Secretary General of ANEN (Spanish Marine Trade Association) Carlos Sanlorenzo.

Carlos Sanlorenzo joined the panel discussion with Rafael Rodríguez Valero, Director General of the Merchant Marine, Alejandro Aznar Sainz, President of the Spanish Shipowners Association and President of the Spanish Maritime Cluster, and José Llorca Ortega, President of Puertos del Estado.

Carlos Sanlorenzo analyzed the current position of the recreational boating industry in Spain, with particular attention to the up grow of the charter subsector. Furthermore, Sanlorenzo has highlighted the significance of the lobby activity in this area which has achieved, over the last 10 years, relevant legal developments and a legal and tax framework for the recreational boating industry which positions Spain in better conditions to compete at the international market.
