On15th July, La Ley Publishing (Wolters Kluwer) celebrated the presentation of its 2015 Annual Directories for Lawyers in Madrid, with the attendance of the Minister of Justice, Mr. Rafael Catalá. ALBORS GALIANO PORTALES collaborated again this year in the 2015 Litigation Annual Directory by contributing with their expertise and considerations in two litigation cases of 2014, the first one concerning the scope of sea transport and the second concerning the scope of liability derived from fire.

In the first case, Eduardo Albors and Javier Portales analyse the occurrence of a fire that affected a cargo carried on board a Moroccan flagged ferry in the Port of Algeciras and assess the validity and efficacy of the foreign law and jurisdiction clauses in sea transport. In the second case, María González and Alda Moreno carry out an assessment on a dispute resulting from a fire in a meat-producing plant.

The owner and one of the plant’s insurers claimed contractual liability and, alternatively, claimed against the contractor, the project design company and the construction manager of a construction in execution at the time the fire broke out. The launch ceremony was a success in attendance, as a great number of representatives from the most important national and international law firms attended the event.
