The Valencia´s Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation held the last Tuesday, 27th June, in the Bar Association of Valencia, the round table about “The Brexit’s influence in the Spanish Advocates performance”.

The round table was moderated by the academic Luis Miguel Romero Villafranca, together with Nuria Díaz Abad, former member of the Spanish Judiciary General Council, Julia Suderow, Competence expert advocate, and Eduardo Albors. The main topic was a discussion in connection with the convenience of having specialised juridictions in Spain in key areas with a view to competing with the English jurisdiction, although Brexit is still clearly a mystery. From this perspective, the 2014 Shipping Act has been a massive step in trying to recover the Spanish Maritime jurisdiction, and the new challenge consists on the necessity to provide measures from the Justice Ministry to the Autonomies.
