Desayuno CME_Jordi Sevilla

Following the meetings programmed by the Spanish Maritime Cluster with representatives of different Parliamentary Groups, last November 25th was the turn of PSOE, whose proposals for next legislature were presented by Mr. Jordi Sevilla, ex-minister of Public Administrations and member of the expert group in charge of coordinating the economic programme of his party. Our partner Javier Galiano attended that working breakfast on behalf of the Firm.

In first instance, Mr. Alejandro Aznar Sainz, President of the Spanish Maritime Cluster, reviewed the professional and academic career of Mr. Sevilla, who took the floor to itemise the general guidelines of PSOE’s economic programme, which according to the ex-minister, go through a change in the production model, based on innovation, formation, commitment to new technologies and quality.

Amongst the addressed issues during round of questions, that of the necessity of a harmonisation regarding maritime sector and, more specifically, the nautical sector was raised. To that effect, the socialist Deputy Mr. José Segura, explained that although such item does not expressly appear in their political programme, the Socialist Parliamentary Group developed a clear task in the processing of the Spanish Shipping Act, to which they have presented 182 amendments where their favourable position towards the harmonization of regulatory politics regarding the maritime sector is manifested.
